What Hoopsy sends
When it checks its trial or license: your license key (if you have one), an anonymous ID for the computer (a salted SHA-256 of its hardware ID, which can't be turned back into the ID), Hoopsy's version and the system's name and version.
When it checks for updates (when it opens and once a day, unless you turn that off, or when you choose Check for Updates): a request for the list of releases, which shows the server Hoopsy's version, the system's version and the internet address it came from. Nothing about you, your license or your computer goes with it. An update you choose to install downloads from hoopsy.app.
It never sends artwork, designs, file names or anything else about your work. There's no other tracking or telemetry in the app.
What the license server keeps
Your license (the key, the email address you paid with, what you paid, how many computers it's for and when its updates end), the computers using it with their Hoopsy and system versions, trials (the anonymous ID, their dates and the country they came from), and a log of check-ins. Each log entry records the IP address and country it came from; IP addresses are erased after 90 days. Update checks aren't logged. Cloudflare, which hosts the server, also keeps short-lived request logs.
Payments
Stripe handles payment and sales tax. We keep the email address you paid with and what you bought; your card details stay with Stripe.
